Devil’s cotton


English name: Devil’s cotton

Scientific name: Abroma augusta L.F.
Useable parts: The whole herb.
Uses:
       1) Absence of, less, excessive and irregular menstrual discharge and leucorrhoea prevents becoming pregnant and these problems together are called amenorrhoea. Amenorrhoea and its lateral symptoms can be cured by swallow of 200 mg root powder of devil’s cotton mixed with a pinch of black pepper powder. The dose should be twice a day. This may sometimes create allergic problems, which can be removed by making the dose less.

2)    Painful menses with feeble and black menstruation, severe pain in the waist and breasts is cured by internal application of 250 mg root powder of devil’s cotton mixed with a necessary amount of black pepper powder from 4-5 days before starting the menses. The dose must be continued for over 3-4 months.
3)    Sometimes there grows severe pain in the waist and breasts without any menses. In that case take 250 mg root powder of devil’s cotton mixed with two pinches of black pepper powder with water once a day. This will produce menses.

                 4)    Thresh some leaves and put into a glass of water. Take it rest for some time. When the glass of water becomes slabbery and sticky, take the essence by filtering. The essence drunk twice a day cures gonorrhea and leucorrhoea.
          5)    Pains and nervousness during sexual intercourse is cured by taking the bark powder of devil’s cotton with water and sugar.
           6)    Root powder taken with long pepper prevents immature decrepitude.
Doses:
 0.2-2 gm root powder,
5-10 drops mother tincture 3-4 times a day,
