| Prickly chaff flower |
Scientific name: Achyranthes aspera L
Useable parts: The whole herb.
Uses:
1) Blood exudation is stopped when the sap of its leaves is used.
2) The essence of prickly chaff flower plus equal amount of creat can cure dropsy when taken 2-3 times a day.
3) It can cure skin diseases. For this follow the following way.
a) Take 5-7 gm half-crushed prickly chaff flower,
b) Take the equal amount of half - crushed creat and neem bark.
c) Put the above ingredients into two cups of water.
d) Boil the water with the ingredients until the water is reduced to a half.

e) The water taken by filtering from the ingredients is called the essence. Take the whole essence as a single dose. Do the same 2-3 times a day for 20-25 days to cure skin diseases.
4) 5-7 gm powder of prickly chaff flower taken 2-3 times a day for 7-10 days cures dysuria (difficulty in urination).
5) The threshed flowers of prickly chaff flower taken with ghee and sugar cures excessive blood exudation.
6) The seed powder of prickly chaff flower taken with cheese and milk cures biliary problems.
Besides, its leaves are used to cure gonorrhoea, asthma, leprosy and disorder of eyes and ears. Its powder cures leucorrhoea. It cures chronic pains, rheumatic fever, blisters; crack on the skin, want of appetite, belly-ache, calculosis of kidney, tumors.
